Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently providing services on an individualized/limited basis. Some of our staff are working in residential homes, while others are offering meaningful day services online, over the phone, in family homes, and (in a very safe and limited way) in the community. We will keep you updated as soon as new information becomes available. Please see the latest update from our Executive Director below, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thank you all for your continued support of the Harford Center.
As you all know, the Governor lifted the stay at home order and replaced it with a “safer at home” protocol. Based on the Governor’s Executive Order, he is reopening retail facilities at 50% capacity and allowing for other “quality of life” businesses and organizations to reopen with strict guidelines. However, the no more than 10-gathering remains in place, as does the social distancing and requirement for wearing a mask. To that end, the Harford Center will continue to operate as we have. We have been providing excellent and meaningful service to individuals in their homes and to participants who live with their families. Additionally, we have utilized the building on a very limited basis (no more than 10 in the building at a time, with masks, and provisions for social distancing). Further, we are ensuring that the building is disinfected daily. Additionally, we have secured adequate personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, disinfectant) and plan to have a sufficient amount on hand as we expand our services and capacity. As we are in Phase one of Maryland’s Road to Recovery ( https://governor.maryland.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/MD_Strong.pdf ), we will not be reopening the Center at this time. It is not anticipated that we completely reopen until phase three along with schools and other large-gathering type organizations (schools, nursing homes, etc.). As this pandemic is a new phenomenon, I am leaning heavily on guidance from the Governor’s office, the Health Department, the CDC, and feedback from stakeholders (families, individuals, staff, colleagues). I understand that these are uncertain times, and I wish that I could clearly lay out the upcoming weeks. However, I can continue to update you, answer your questions, and let you know when/if we have to change course. I encourage all of you to read the Governor’s plan, so that we can all work together toward Maryland’s recovery. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I wish you all the best. Please stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you all soon. Sherry Nolte, LCSW-C
