Kristin Klein

Kristin grew up in northern New Jersey and attended Boston University where she obtained both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling with a specialization in psychiatric rehabilitation.  She has been a resident of Harford County for more than 20 years.

After working in New Zealand helping employees with significant injuries return to work, she moved to Maryland where she worked for Service Coordination advocating for people receiving funding through Maryland’s Developmental Disability Administration.  In this role, she worked both in Baltimore and Harford counties.

After working with Service Coordination, she transitioned back to helping injured workers return to work as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist at IWIF (now Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company).  After working in this role for a number of years, she decided to shift gears and help prevent disabling injuries before they occur and started working in the field of occupational safety and health.  She has advanced in this role and is now the Director of Safety Services with Chesapeake Employers.  In this role, she oversees the day-to-day operations of a team of field staff working with more than 18,000 business in Maryland to keep people as safe as possible on the job so they can go home at the end of each day the way they started. 

Kristin has prior board leadership experience, spending 6 years on the Board of Directors for Harford Family House, 2 years of which she was the Co-Chair.  Kristin has a passion for helping others and finds board leadership allows her to use her skills and experience to do this.  Kristin is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Workers Compensation Professional ™ and holds the Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Claims and Associate in Underwriting designations from The Institutes.
