March 26 Covid-19 Update

Participants, Families, Providers, Partners, and Harford Center Friends:

Like me, I am sure that all of you have been watching the news and wondering how long all of this is going to last.  I wish I had an answer.  However, what I can tell you is that we will all get through these days of uncertainty.  Please take care of yourselves and follow all the guidelines put out by the CDC.  I have attached them here for your reference.

Please continue to reach out.  I miss seeing you all every day and am thinking of you.  I will continue to provide updates as they are available.  At the office, we are doing a deep clean of the entire building.  There are some of our staff working in residential homes to keep continuity and provide meaningful days to people at the Harford Center.  I want to thank the providers (The Arc Northern Chesapeake, Gallagher, MidAtlantic, and Richcroft) for partnering with us during these challenging times.  I also want to thank the Harford Center staff for helping out our community and participants by working in the homes.  I know the sacrifices all of you are making and want you to know that we are all together in this.

Additionally, as a reminder, we do not follow Harford County schools. We have received calls and inquiries about our “re-open” date. At this time, that has not been determined. We are subject to State laws and are following the Governor’s Executive Order that no more than 10 people can gather at a time. Additionally, we are following the CDC’s recommendation for social distancing. Until those provisions are lifted, we will remain closed. I will continue to update everyone via our website (www.harfordcenter.org), Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Harfordcenter/ and email.  Thank you for your patience, and I know how hard all of this is.  We all want business as usual, but for the time being please stay safe and  follow the CDC and State’s recommendations.

Warm Regards,

Sherry Nolte, LCSW-C
