Position Title: DRIVER
$13.50 per hour
Monday – Friday7-9:30 & 2-4:30
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely transports clients to and from facility
- Obeys all traffic rules and regulations
- Follows time schedules in a safe manner
- Maintains all paperwork
- Assists in the loading and unloading of clients
- Assures person receiving client is the person designated to do so
- Remains alert and on call during the event of an adverse weather condition
- Attends scheduled in-service training exercises as required
- Treats individuals with respect and dignity at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Competencies
- Able to drive a 15 passenger van
- Able to work morning and afternoon shifts
- Maintains confidentiality of clients and their records
- Previous experience transporting individuals with special needs
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid certification strongly preferred; however, continued employment is contingent upon it being obtained within 90 days of employment
- Possesses excellent communication skills
- Possesses the ability to assist and keep clients safe in any emergency
- Completes transportation requests in a predetermined time limit
- Possesses a valid MD Driver’s license with less than 2 points in last 3 years -no
DUI/DWI
- Possesses a positive attitude with a professional presentation and works in a team environment.
- Pass the DOT physical
Physical Demands
- Ability to move clients in wheel chairs
- Ability to lift clients and safely secure into seats and wheelchairs
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to sit and drive for long periods of time
