The Harford Center has an immediate opening for a Full Time Transportation Supervisor

Reports To: Facilities Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

The Harford Center is seeking an energetic, positive person to oversee the safe and reliable transportation for 135+ adults with disabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will be on-call until 6PM

Supervises and coordinates all transportation staff

Prepares and posts a weekly schedule for all bus drivers and aides each Thursday

Fills any vacancies in schedule with qualified program staff

Maintains a clean and safe mode of transportation for individuals

Conducts In-service training for transportation staff

Has monthly staff meetings

Communicates safety rules and regulations, policies, and procedures to transportation staff

Maintains a current file on each individual who requires transportation to and from locations

Complies with all procedures as it relates to accidents and reports information within a 24 hour period

Acts as contact individual for vehicle insurance for accident reporting

Prepares and adheres to an annual budget for transportation costs (i.e. staffing schedules and fuel expenses)

In conjunction with facilities manager, assures that all vehicles meet DOT requirements

Acts as back-up for transportation and program personnel if necessary

Prepares introductory and annual evaluations of transportation staff

Assumes all other job related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee

Qualifications/Competencies:

Previous experience transporting individuals with differing abilities

Maintains confidentiality of individuals and their records

Current CPR and Basic First Aid certification strongly preferred; however, continued employment is contingent upon it being obtained within 90 days

Strong organizational skills

Strong management skills

Strong interpersonal/communication skills including written and oral presentation

Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite

Possess the ability to assist and keep passengers safe in any emergency

Possess a valid MD Driver’s license with less than 2 points in the last 3 years – no DUI/DWI

Possess a positive attitude with a professional presentation and works in a team environment

Education and Experience:

High school diploma/bachelor’s degree in related field

Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite

3+ years of experience in transportation management

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Current CPR and First-Aid Certification strongly preferred; however, continued employment is contingent upon it being obtained within 90 days of hire

Physical Demands:

Ability to move clients/passengers

Ability to move clients/passengers and secure into seats

Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Ability to sit and drive for long periods of time

Required education:

High school or equivalent
